Annual Reorganizational Meeting: Feb 3rd Wed, 6 pm at the High Falls Cafe...all residents of High Falls and the surrounding community are invited. We will hold our annual review, events brainstorm session and election of 2010 officers. (positions are open...if you would like to serve, please let us know. Send email for more information.
Winter Festival: Jan 31st A Winter Social featuring ice skating (frozen pond permittting), a warm and toasty bonfire, cider, and s'mores. Come join the party on Sunday, January 31st between 1 and 3 pm. The place is the Horwitz Pond at the corner of Mohonk & Canal Roads in High Falls. Come roast marshmallows with old friends and new. If the weather permits, bring your skates and take a whirl around the pond. This is a free event.
Crazy Hat Bingo: scheduled for Mar 20, 2010 at the Marbletown Community Center ...on Rt 209 in Stone Ridge...across from the Mobil Station/Key Bank/Leggett Road. Admission is $20 and $10 for seniors. Admission includes six Bingo games with prizes for the winners; a buffet dinner and dessert with soft drinks; and entry in the Crazy Hat Bingo fashion show and contest, with prizes given for the best millinery creations (most environmentally friendly, most stylish, most humorous, best couple, Mr & Ms High Falls and judge's choice. Green-Up Day - April 24th (9:00 am to 1:00 pm) is the tentative date for 2010. The High Falls Civic Association is seeking volunteers for roadside litter clean-up. Volunteers should sign in at the High Falls Cafe at 9:00 am. Collection Bags will be available and refreshments will be provided for volunteers courtesy of the Civic Association and the High Falls Cafe. See photos from 2009 Green-Up Day.
Pet Fair: May 15th 2010. This gala event attracts the best animal companions from all over Ulster County, who vie for prizes for looks, charm, behavior, and a host of other categories. This annual event not only honors our faithful animal friends, but it also provides education about feeding and caring for pets, as well as how to adopt animals. This event will be held right in the heart of High Falls. Please note: This is NOT an event to bring pets for adoption. High Falls Fair Day: July 10, 2010 An annual celebration of smalltown America, High Falls Fair Day also reminds us of the effort needed to preserve our community. The entire hamlet will be buzzing from morning to evening, beginning with a parade in the morning. Local craftspeople and vendors will be on hand. The Community Church will hold their annual Chicken Barbecue and the Civic Association and local restaurants will again have a "Taste of High Falls". For kids, there are games, arts & crafts, bounce house, and a pie-eating contest. There will be live music all day in the parking lot of the High Falls Cafe.

Ghost Walk High Falls Tours: tentative dates are Oct 27-29 for 2010 Tours will start in the parking lot of the Depuy Canal House on Route 213 in the center of High Falls. The 6pm tour is the Family Ghost Walk– lighthearted family fun and just a little spooky. Kids of all ages are encouraged to come in their Halloween costumes. Silly ghouls with treats and a few tricks await in the darkness. The 8pm tour is the True Horror of High Falls Walk, which will expose the frightening local history of the Rondout and Hudson Valleys.
Holiday Tree Lighting: tentatively set for December 4, 2010 Join us for this holiday classic featuring carols, hot soup, and a visit from Santa. We will gather at 5:30 and when Santa arrives we will light the tree and sing some carols. Bring an unwrapped toy for the Fire Department's toy drive. Hot chocolate and cookies will follow the event at the High Falls Community Church. The first in a series of Alderwood ornaments depicting local historic buildings will be available for purchase.
